East Selkirk Soccer Skills Camp

With sports allowed to resume on June 1st but the soccer season officially cancelled, ESRA has managed to start soccer camps for two age groups in order to keep at least some of the sports community moving. Four ESRA board members and several community members have teamed up to start the East Selkirk Soccer Skills Camp, which held its first practice on June 10th and runs until the end of the month.

The camp has been designed to comply with the Province's recommendations on the resumption of sports, with a great deal of effort going into measures such as providing hand sanitizer stations at the fields, sanitizing equipment, designing drills and games that allow for social distancing, and limiting the number of players and attendees at each field. It's been a challenge, but has been well worth the effort thus far judging by the smiles on the kids' faces. A big thanks to the facility staff, board members and parent volunteers who have made this happen!
